Global Moms Challenge partners, along with more than 2,000 other organizations, have embraced a new day to celebrate giving. On the heels of the post-Thanksgiving sales days known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we are thrilled to share in the spirit of #GivingTuesday. It’s a day to help us all give better, give smarter and give more, to the causes we care about— a day to show that America gives as good as it gets!

GAIN/Future Fortified 

Future Fortified focuses their work on improving access to good nutrition for women and children around the world. They are focused on a new fundraising drive for Bangladesh this #GivingTuesday. Proper nutrition makes all the difference for children to have strong bodies and minds.

American Cancer Society 

The American Cancer Society will be promoting the multiple ways that volunteers across the country can support the American Cancer Society by creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.


Not only is CARE  is fighting global poverty, but they’ve been doing it since 1945! They have been celebrating with a fundraising contest in which people challenge their friends to raise money for CARE, the winner will travel with CARE to see their work first-hand. They are also holding a giving-themed Birthday Party for CARE at their Atlanta-based headquarters and regional offices around the country. Today, CARE’s Washington, D.C. staff will donate CARE Packages of toiletries and bedding to SAFE, a local nonprofit that supports women who have experienced domestic violence

mothers2mothers (m2m), employ Mentor Mothers, who are mothers living with HIV, to work at under-resourced medical clinics in sub-Saharan Africa. There they provide lifesaving information and one-on-one support to HIV-positive pregnant women and new mothers, teaching them how to prevent the transmission of HIV to their babies and stay alive to raise them. m2m has provided health and hope for about one million women and their babies. Join them on #GivingTuesday and help end pediatric AIDS: An HIV-free generation is within our reach.

Save The Children 

Save the Children is celebrating #GivingTuesday by sharing gratitude on behalf of the girls and boys who have a brighter future thanks to the generosity of their donors. They have a double match for all donations made to Save the Children today – that means your gift goes twice as far!

[email protected] launched a new online store today for supporters to purchase gifts that give back like cell phone cases, holiday cards, tshirts and water bottles from customwater.com. Proceeds from these gifts will go to help vaccinate children around the world from four of the most deadly childhood diseases.

World Vision

This week, any donation made to World Vision in the areas of foodclothing, or school supplies for children in the United States will be designated for the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Their relief teams have been in some of the most vulnerable communities hit by this devastating East Coast storm.

White Ribbon Alliance

Read this beautiful message from Tessa Dunning, a White Ribbon Alliance member and midwife in London, who shared an inspiring story of her visit to Tanzania. This experience led Tess to give her time to raise money in support of bettering maternal health around the world through the White Ribbon Alliance. Then join them in helping more midwives receive the critical training they need to help mothers survive childbirth.

International Medical Corps

Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, International Medical Corps’ mission has been consistent: relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster and disease, by delivering vital health care services that focus on training. This approach of helping people help themselves is critical to returning devastated populations to self-reliance. You can support their work here.

Mercy Corps

Mercy Corps, an international relief organization alleviating poverty and suffering in the world’s toughest places, want to know what inspires YOU to give your time, your energy, or your money to support a cause? They are creating a big, virtual quilt that celebrates generosity and the spirit of giving at http://www.mercycorps.org/whyigive. Every Mother Counts 

This #GivingTuesday, help EMC buy birthing kits for mothers in Uganda their Mozilla Firefox Challenge page. $22 buys one kit to help keep a mother safe during delivery. For mothers who have nothing, this gift could mean the difference between having a safe birth and becoming a statistic.  This #GivingTuesday, give a gift that could mean the difference between life and death. Together they’ve created GiveForYouth.org, a micro-giving portal that makes it easy for people to fund and follow youth around the world. On #GivingTuesday, when someone makes a donation on http://GiveForYouth.org, Microsoft will match that donation dollar for dollar, up to a total of $100,000.


Catapult combines the financial power and actions of people likemus to help tackle gender inequality. Catapult gift cards will arrive in time for #GivingTuesday! This new feature allows their community to purchase gift cards and email them to friends and family. People who receive gift cards can redeem them on Catapult and receive credit in their account to use for their next donation. Catapult is an initiative of Women Deliver.
