November 20, 2014

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Our partners have some perfect ideas for our loved ones this season, and ways to make those gifts count! #GivingTuesday, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – December 2 – is a great time to get started!

Gifts from ONE From beaded bracelets to infinity scarves, baby ONEsies and beyond, ONE has a gift for anyone on your list. Ranging in price from $5 to $55, each gift has significance to the work ONE does to battle extreme poverty in Africa and beyond. These stackable bead bracelets come in a pack of 3 for $15. Perfect for stocking stuffers and teacher gifts.

Gifts_That_HealFistula Foundation – Gifts That Heal The Fistula Foundation’s Gifts That Heal include an iPhone case, jewelry, and the beautiful Ayesha Scarf. A soft rayon blend, it pairs with nearly any outfit. The scarf is named for a woman who suffered with fistula for 10 years before finally receiving a successful surgery.

St. Michael’s school in Rwamwanja settlement in Uganda where UNHCR has been working closely with TOMS for shoe distribution.

UNHCR-USA and TOMS In response to the growing number of refugees around the world, TOMS is joining #GivingTuesday this year to raise funds for USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. For every purchase of $75 or more on #GivingTuesday, $5 will go toward the life-saving work of UNHCR in camps like this one. As always, TOMS matches every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes for a child in need, every day of the year.

Playing_SoccerUNICEF-USA Inspired Gifts – With UNICEF-USA’s Inspired Gifts you can send gifts straight to children who need them. For as little as $15 you can give the Eat & Run bundle, 226 packets of Micronutrient Powder and 1 soccer ball, giving kids the gift of health and strength. Be sure to check out all the Inspired Gifts to give vaccines, food, blankets, winter clothes, and more.

Chic accessories from Bloom + Grace benefit the Shot@Life campaign. The gorgeous Triangle Bangle ($45) is handcrafted from recycled bombshell brass in Cambodia. Each purchase of the Triangle Bangle also provides 4 children with lifesaving vaccines.

The Liya Kebede Foundation, launched in conjunction with model Liya Kebede’s appointment as a World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador in 2005, supports leading organizations working to reduce deaths of mothers and newborns in Africa, especially Ethiopia, through advocacy, education, grantmaking and partnerships. The Foundation will benefit from sales of all clothing on #GivingTuesday — with proceeds going to training, community education and safe birth practices.

BRAC – Matched Donation This year, ‘Invest in Her’ – a girl’s potential, a woman’s skill and ingenuity to overcome poverty. All donations made between November 18th and December 31st will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a coalition of BRAC supporters. $30 provides training for a woman in South Sudan to start a small business; $130 will train a teacher in Afghanistan to educate a class of 30 students, the majority of whom are girls.
