Last week we shared five things we’re excited about for 2015 and why this is such a critical time for mothers and children everywhere.
“2015 is a chance for major advances across… development, peace and human rights.” ~ UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
As the nations of the world come together to set new goals to reduce poverty and take better care of our planet, we are all thinking seriously about the kind of future we want, especially for the health of moms and kids.
Join us on January 15th for a day of digital action where we will join thousands of others in calling for better results. We will be hosting a twitter conversation from 11:30am-12:00pm ETabout the key innovations and solutions that are out there to help keep mothers safe during pregnancy and childbirth; and help babies grow and thrive beyond their fifth birthdays.
From medications to body compression wraps that stop bleeding, to better training and recruitment of health care workers, to vaccines, nutrition solutions and newborn resuscitation equipment, there are many paths making lives better for families.
We will be joined by some of our incredible partners including Every Mother Counts, World Vision, Jhpiego, mothers2mothers and the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR as well as mothers who care like you.
The action/2015 campaign has formed to demand change and work to ensure world leaders adopt truly ambitious goals and agreements on climate change, poverty, inequality, and injustice. We want to help build pressure and make sure our leaders take action to deliver real and lasting solutions for the future we want.
On January 15th you are all invited to join an action/2015 digital rally. Global Moms Challenge will be hosting a Twitter chat at 11:30am ET.
