Get Out the Give for #GivingTuesday and World AIDS Day

December 1, 2015

Today is a great day to take action for others, with two very special occasions.

Let’s Get Out the Give

2015-eat-sleep-give (1)First, it’s #GivingTuesday! Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday is bigger than ever before. This is a day to give back. We just had a day to be thankful followed by three days focused on getting good deals. Today is the day we refocus on giving back, kicking off the giving season with purpose and heart. Held the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, it’s a simple way for you, your family, your community, or your organization to give something more.

This global celebration of a new tradition of generosity isn’t directed at any specific cause; it’s all about giving in ways meaningful to YOU. Plan a service project, collect needed goods for a local charity, or donate online.

Share what you do and use the hashtag #GivingTuesday to spread the word about the good being done around the world. In case you missed it, here’s our handy gift guide so you can combine holiday shopping and giving back!

A Critical Challenge of Our Time

December 1 is also World AIDS Day. UNAIDS recently released a report focusing on the fastest path to ending AIDS by 2030.

Ending the AIDS epidemic is an essential part of the global goals. Recent analysis shows we’re starting to see a dangerous level of complacency in the fight, and if we don’t act now the progress we’ve seen could become undone. The next five years are especially critical as we move toward 2030.
