Moms +SocialGood is a one-day event to bring together community leaders, leading development voices, and popular philanthropists to highlight the global issues impacting the health of moms and children around the world.

Welcome to Moms +SocialGood: Michael Sneed (@JNJCares), Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs at Johnson & Johnson, and Susan Myers (@unfoundation), Senior Vice President at United Nations Foundation, will kick off the day.

Opening Keynote: “It’s complicated: Understanding motherhood worldwide” with Carolyn Miles (@carolynsave / @SaveTheChildren), President of Save the Children, and Actress-author Kimberly Williams Paisley (@kimwilliamspais)

Panel: “Equality & access for families everywhere”

Equity changes everything. In order to change the future for parents and their children, we must create equality through access, dignity and opportunity for all.

We know that educating a girl opens doors for not only herself but her current family and the future of the family she creates one day. But the numbers of girls still out of school is staggering. Where are we and what can we do to help?

How can we address the humanitarian crisis, food security, and safe spaces for mothers and their children?

Panel: “From local to global challenges: Focus on the whole child

Children’s health relies on more than just the basics. In order to successfully support families from all backgrounds and prepare all children to thrive, we must address the entire needs of the child.

Panel introduction by Lauren Moore, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship at Johnson & Johnson. Moderated by Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News’ Chief Health and Medical Editor.

Session: “Care, prevention & the truth about today’s infectious diseases”

Families, more than ever, are aware of what a borderless world looks like and the reality of global health epidemics hitting home. This session will address fears that families have, dispel the rumors and misconceptions, focus on the facts, and reveal the best methods of care and preventions for moms and their children everywhere.
